  Students Services Directorate honors 190 participants in First-Aid Session

The Student Services Directorate at the Education Ministry has hosted a ceremony to honor the participants in the first-aid training session for this school year, 2012-2013, in the presence of Director Jassim Mohammed bin Harban, Colonel Abdulaziz Rashid Al-Amer, from the Civil Defence Academy, and a number of specialists.
During the event, Director of Student Services delivered a statement in which he lauded the fruitful cooperation with the Civil Defence Academy at the Interior Ministry in organizing such sessions, affirming the Education Ministry’s keenness to ensure the safety and security of its affiliates and facilities.
He added that social guides, especially the newly-recruited ones, members of the administrative, teaching and technical staff at schools and personnel of the Ministry’s directorates benefitted from the training, noting that the Student Services Directorate will carry on its efforts to organize more sessions on first aid and fire.
Then, he honored those in charge of the session, as well as the 190 participants.

  Minister honors participants in School Theater Festival

Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi honored participants and outstanding ones in the first School Theater Festival, stressing the ministry s continuous support to the school theater in light of its success locally and regionally with Bahrain being chosen by the GCC Arab Education Bureau as a permanent headquarters of the GCC School Theater.
Minister honored five distinguished schools in theatrical shows. They are Al-Istiqlal Secondary School for Girls, Jid Hafs Primary School for Boys, Arad Primary-Intermediate School for Boys, East Riffa Primary School for Girls and Al Farabi Intermediate School for Boys.
He also honored 15 other participating schools and lauded participation of students with special needs in the school theater activities, stressing the ministry s keenness to provide this category with every support.

  Minister meets with a number of Private Schools Officials to improve their Educational Performance

Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi met with a number of principals and officials of private schools, in the light of the results of these schools in the reviews of the National Authority of Qualifications and Quality Assurance for Education and Training (NAQQAET) . The meeting was held in the framework of the administrative and educational responsibility of the ministry for those educational institutions and their role in the follow-up and improving of their performance and outputs.
During the meeting, the minister stressed the ministry’s great concern with the issue of improving the performance of the governmental and private schools, reinforcing the need that those schools pay a serious attention to the reports issued by (NAQQAET) for the reviews introduce a feedback and a serious and objective indicators on the various educational, leadership and learning performance.
The minister highlighted that the ministry is ready to provide the technical and required support for the private schools to benefit from its experience in the application of the program for improving the performance of the schools, which started since 2008, and was circled among all governmental schools.
The minister also pointed out the distinctive programs contained in the project, which include elevating the school leadership and the educational process in the class, as well as the training of teachers, in addition to the continuous improving of the school environment and the optimal use of the school time through diversifying activities and programs.
In a related context, the minister asserted that the ministry and its specialized devices will continuously follow-up those schools till they achieve the required level of elevating the performance, and will take all the necessary and suitable measures to accomplish such desired goal.
Secretary General of the Council for Higher Education, Dr. Riyadh Hamza, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Private and Continuous Education, Widad Radhi Al Moosawi, and a number of officials attended.

  Minister receives Director General of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Work

Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi received in his office at the ministry’s court in Isa Town, the Director General of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Foundation for Humanitarian Work, Mohammed Hajji Al Khouri and the accompanying delegation on the occasion of their visit to Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation between the ministry and the foundation, particularly in the area of technical education, considering the distinctive brotherly relations bonding the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Resources and Services, Shaikh Hisham Bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and Director of Planning and Educational Projects Latifa Isa Al Bonoudha.

  Minister honors outstanding schools

A ceremony was held in honor of outstanding schools which clinched the Education Minister s cups for sport excellence. Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi patronized the event and honored victorious schools at the ministry s hall in Isa Town. Addressing the event, Director of Physical Education, Scouts and Guides Dr. Shikha Yusuf Al-Jeeb said that 826 events were organized this year, benefiting over 45 thousands students, paying tribute to the wise leadership for its support.
She stressed the importance of the activities, lined up in cooperation with the General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOSI) to promote budding talents. She also addressed the ceremony outlined outstanding achievements on the Arab and GCC levels. Daily newspapers were also honored in recognition of their efforts to highlight school sport activities and competitions.

  Minister Receives Special Envoy of the Philippines President

  Minister Launches Electronic Management System

Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi inaugurated The Electronic Management Program for Learning Resources Centres. The Directorate of Management of Technologies and Learning Resources organized the inaugural ceremony at Isa Cultural Centre, in the presence of chairperson of the Unified Arabic Index Dr. Saleh Mohammad Al-Misnid and ministry s officials.
Dr. Nuaimi stressed resolve to continue efforts to promote the concept of e-learning, based on the latest educational methods and access to information technology.
He described the launch of the Electronic Management Program for Learning Resources Centres as part of the ministry s efforts to promote technology in teaching and learning processes, citing the pioneering King Hamad Future Schools Project.
Assistant Undersecretary for curricula and Educational Supervision Shaikha Lulua bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of the new hi-tech this system in promoting all school learning resources centres.
Dr. Al-Misnid also addressed the inaugural ceremony stressing plans to launch the first phase of the Arabic digital library and digital library for children in support of the educational process based on unified Arab index.

  Bahraini Students Attend Cultural Expo in Jordan

Bahraini students enrolled at Jordanian universities took part in the second heritage and cultural exhibition. Arab and Foreign students also participate in the exhibition, hosted by Jordanian Al-Hashemite University. The Bahraini students designed a pavilion showcasing the Kingdom s centuries-old civilization, historical monuments and modern milestones.
The pavilion also featured books and booklets. Traditional Bahraini delight (Halwa) was distributed to the guests. The students also designed a three-dimensional miniature depicting the iconic Bab Al-Bahrain.
The exhibition was held under the patronage of Al-Hashemite University president. Cultural attaches accredited to Amman attended. Bahrain Embassy Cultural attaché Yusuf Abdulaziz Al-Alawi presented Al-Hashemite University president with a commemorative shield.

  Minister chairs the Seventeenth Meeting of the Board of Directors of GCC Standardization Organization

Based on the directives of His Royal Highness the Premier, Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al –Nuaimi chaired the works of the seventeenth meeting of the Board of Directors of the GCC Standardization Organization at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they agreed on adopting a number of standards and technical regulations reaching 8000 specifications, and due to the increasing spread of the use of motorcycles in the Member States and to ensure safety requirements, the certificate of conformity will be applied on motorcycles, of which new cars will be subject to it since the beginning of 2015. They also agreed on adopting the Convention on GCC Accreditation Center, which will start working at the beginning of January 2014.

  Minister Chairs GCC Meeting

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa commissioned Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi to lead The Kingdom of Bahrain delegation to the meetings of GCC Ministers of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where Dr. Al Nuaimi chaired both meetings at the Headquarters of the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh.
The 47th meeting of the Commerce Cooperation Committee discussed topics contained on its agenda and appropriate decisions were taken, particularly the approval of establishing a system for fighting commercial fraud in the GCC countries and consider it as a mandatory system.
The 36th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee discussed areas related to strengthening of cooperation among GCC countries. On other hand, workshop’s recommendations to assess the current industrial strategy for the GCC States were discussed, in addition to agreeing to find a study aims to evaluate achievements and obstacles of joint Gulf industrial work.

  School attacked

Vandals attacked Al Ta awon Secondary Boys School in Sanad on Monday afternoon. They broke the door of the learning resources room and threw a smoke bomb inside it. The smoke spread through the air conditioning vents into the classrooms which forced the school s staff to evacuate the students and assemble them in the sport hall. Directorate of Public Relations and Information in The Ministry of Education condemned the acts which try to obstruct the educational process.

  Minister Opens Seminar on Education for Citizenship

Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi opened, at the Diplomat Hotel, the Education for Citizenship Seminar for classes 7-9 and 10-12, organized by the Gulf Arab States Educational Research Centre (GASERC).
GASERC Director Dr. Marzooq Al Gunaim, Education Ministry s Undersecretary for Education and Curricula Affairs Dr. Abdulla Yussef Al-Mutawa and a number of educational specialists from GCC and Yemen attended.
During the opening session, Minister delivered a statement in which he lauded the fruitful cooperation between the Education Ministry and the Gulf Arab States Educational Research Centre in various educational fields, especially the education for citizenship which has a positive impact on building the personality of the citizens and establishing positive attitudes towards co-existence, tolerance and national unity.
The Minister added that the kingdom has allocated great importance to the educational sector and achieved numerous honorable achievements, noting that in all nations, the mission of education is to upgrade the status of the individual through renewing his/her cultural, social and national self and safeguarding it against vulnerability factors.
On his part, the Gulf Arab States Educational Research Centre Director Dr. Marzooq Al Gunaim delivered a speech in which he said that this seminar is a part of the centre s efforts to develop Education in the GCC countries and Yemen.

  Minister attended planning strategies workshop

The directorate of planning and educational projects is organizing the training scheme in co-operation with UNESCO Regional Centre for Information Technology and Communication and the Paris based International Centre for Educational Planning.
