Minister gives speech in WEF 2015

<p>Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali al Nuaimi gave a speech in the World Education Forum (WEF) 2015, held in South Korea, and highlighted Bahrain s landmark achievements in providing free and compulsory education, and success in achieving education goals before the date fixed. <br /> He pointed out that over the past five years, Bahrain ranked among high-performing countries in the field of education and was rated as the top country in the Arab world in a lot of areas according to the Education for All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report by UNESCO. <br /> He highlighted Bahrain s free services for students like books and transportation and quality services for students with special needs, who have been reintegrated in 30% of the public schools, along with the steps taken in literacy. <br /> He addressed the ministry s efforts aimed at developing the educational process, including the implementation of the national project to develop teaching and training s initiatives, upgrading curriculum and education, including the promotion of human rights and tolerance values. <br /> He reviewed how King Hamad s Schools of the Future Project (KHSFP) s contributed to upgrading the education outcome and benefits of implementing digital empowerment in education in raising students academic achievement level. <br /> He affirmed that despite the terror attacks on schools which exceeded 420 acts of sabotage, the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to provide and develop education services, thanks to the leadership s support for the educational march. <br /> The minister underscored the importance of including a number of issues in the Declaration on Education 2030 to be issued at the end of the Forum, like supporting people with special needs and ensuring the right of education for all the students, especially those who live in difficult conditions due to wars or natural disasters as well as criminalising the use of schools for political purposes, to be targeted by terrorist sabotage acts and anything that may disrupt the school day or deprive students of their right to learn in a safe environment. <br /></p><br/>
